About Us
Why work with Impart Therapy
“The best path out is always through.”
I’m Nadine, founder of Impart Therapy. Only a few short years ago, I found myself struggling with my own mental health – juggling a busy work-life with two children and coming to terms with my pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) diagnosis. I was overwhelmed, stressed, weighed down by anxiety, and unsure of where to turn. Thankfully, I turned to therapy.
I’m proud to work together with compassionate, warm, and talented therapists who are trained in a variety of techniques to help. Our therapists have extensive experience working with children, couples, families, and individuals struggling to understand themselves.
We believe therapy starts first with acceptance – understanding ourselves and our own unique journey. It is this belief that led me to gain control of my PMDD symptoms and launch Impart Therapy, a virtual place focused on helping.

Meet the Therapists at Impart Therapy
Our Approach at Impart Therapy
We begin with a free meet and greet, where you can get to know our therapist and see if there’s a fit for you.
Introduction and Intake
We get to know you, taking time to go through your unique history and challenges. We want to know all about you, and what’s bringing you to therapy. We may include an intake form or separate interview and may include some assessments (if needed).
Your Specific Goals
We want to know your goals and objectives, and then we put together a plan that works for you. While we are trained in a number of different approaches or modalities (such as CBT), we may take an integrated approach to ensure we are working with you.
Progress
Therapy is not linear, and it can sometimes mean that adjustments may need to be made. We check in regularly with you for feedback, and may from time to time provide some homework – it’s always your choice to do this!
Frequently Asked Questions
What is therapy?
Talk therapy provides a space to express your reality. You may be someone who is very in touch with your emotions, or someone who have trouble even knowing when you’re hungry. Exploring yourself with a therapist helps you to unpack what is happening and the unproductive coping mechanisms you may have developed. Therapy provides a supportive and comfortable space, where we can explore together.
There are many types of therapy, including behavioural focused such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy(DBT) and humanistic focused therapy such as client-centred, Gestalt, and Existential. You may find certain therapies very effective, others less so, and your choice of therapy will be dependant on the direction you (and your therapist) choose.
Do I need therapy?
Only you can answer that. Freud believed that everyone needs therapy and spent years undergoing deep psychoanalytic therapy. If things feel a little overwhelming or out of control, it might be time to consider talking to someone. The search for a therapist can be a tough decision, and most therapists will offer a free meet and greet session for you to get to know them before committing. We encourage you to do your homework.
What is a psychotherapist?
First off, it’s important for you to know that therapy is regulated in Ontario. As such, thosedesignated to provide therapy services are authorized and regulated by professional colleges, suchas the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, the College of Psychological Associates, and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
Second, psychotherapists, psychologists, and social workers are all authorized to provide the controlled act of psychotherapy in Ontario, although the education is differently focused for each. For psychotherapists, a master’s degree in counselling/psychotherapy is required, and therapists must be licensed through the College of the Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
We do not assess or diagnose and are focused on treatment-based approaches.
How long will I be in therapy?
There is no one set timeframe for clients, as it is different for everyone. Behavioural-focused therapies can sometimes be effective in shorter timeframes, but generally this should be discussed with your therapist in terms of your needs.
What is the cost?
Our sessions range in pricing from $155 to sliding scale options of $85, depending on the experience of the therapist. We also offer affordable care options delivered by our student therapists, where session range from $70 to $30.
Is therapy covered through insurance?
If you have an insurance provider, typically our sessions will be covered (some insurance programs offer full coverage, others offer a limit). We encourage you to check with your insurance provide before beginning therapy, as well as the designation of therapy they cover: they must cover Registered Psychotherapy.
