Deeya Sumra
MACP, RP (Qualifying)
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) · Anxiety Therapist for Teens & Young Adults
Deeya works with teens and young adults dealing with anxiety and provides anxiety therapy for those who may look like they have it all together: good grades, a packed schedule, constant follow-through, while underneath they’re anxious, self-critical, and quietly exhausted from trying to get everything right. For many of the clients Deeya sees, that exhaustion is tangled up with ADHD, with their brain working overtime to keep up, often for years before anyone named what was actually going on.
Deeya helps clients see how ADHD, anxiety, and perfectionism feed each other — how a missed deadline turns into shame, how shame turns into overcorrecting, and how overcorrecting turns into burnout. Together, you’ll build a clearer picture of how your brain actually works, quiet the inner critic that’s been running the show, and find strategies that fit your life instead of fighting it.
Deeya is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Honours Bachelor of Psychology from Trent University. She draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills, mindfulness, and solution-focused approaches, tailored to what each client actually needs.
Therapy with Deeya isn’t about fixing who you are; it’s about helping you reconnect with your worth, understand your own mind, and feel steady again.
If you’re ready to take the first step, reach out to Deeya to see how she can support you.
