Specialized Therapy Areas

I focus on helping individuals and couples work through specific challenges, including:

  • PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) & PME (Premenstrual Exacerbation)
  • Anxiety & ADHD
  • Grief & Loss
  • Loneliness
  • Neurodivergence (especially in couples where one or both partners are neurodivergent)
  • Donor-Conceived or Adopted Individuals (working through identity-related challenges)

Therapeutic Approaches

As a therapist, I utilize a variety of approaches tailored to the unique needs of each individual or couple:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. In couples therapy, it helps partners recognize unhealthy patterns, improve communication, and replace negative cycles with more positive behaviors.
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
MBCT combines mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy to break the cycle of negative thinking. In couples therapy, it helps partners become more aware of their emotions, manage stress, and respond to each other in a more thoughtful and present way.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT encourages individuals to accept their feelings and thoughts, rather than trying to change them. For couples, this can help partners embrace their emotional experiences, develop psychological flexibility, and commit to actions that align with their shared values.
  • Solution-Focused Therapy
This approach focuses on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. In couples therapy, it’s particularly helpful for couples looking to overcome specific challenges, such as stress, communication breakdowns, or life transitions. It’s especially effective for entrepreneurs or couples in high-stress environments.
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT teaches skills for managing intense emotions and improving emotional regulation. In couples therapy, DBT can help partners cope with emotional dysregulation, communicate more effectively, and create healthier, more balanced interactions.
  • Person-Centered Therapy
This approach emphasizes empathy, active listening, and validation. In couples therapy, it helps partners feel heard, understood, and valued, which strengthens the emotional connection and fosters a deeper bond between partners.

Gottman Level 1 Couples Counselling

I work with couples where one or both has neurodivergence like ADHD, and I offer PMDD Couples Counselling as well.

I am a compassionate therapist specializing in couples counseling. With over 20 years of experience as a business owner and photographer, I bring a wealth of practical experience to my couples therapy sessions. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate relationship challenges, emotional struggles, and personal growth.

In my practice, I focus on empowering clients to better understand their emotions, gain clarity on their past, and address how it influences their present relationships. I use a variety of therapeutic methods tailored to each individual’s or couple’s unique needs.

As a mother of three and someone in a cross-cultural marriage, I bring a relatable, grounded perspective to my work, helping couples build stronger connections and deeper understanding. I value creativity and exploration, and my own experiences with trying new hobbies—like dancing, skateboarding, skiing, and paddleboarding—help me relate to my clients’ journeys. These activities inspire me to encourage my clients to embrace personal growth, approach their relationships with curiosity, and develop resilience and openness to change.
